Crusaders Recognized for Historic 2019-20 Campaign!

Year End Dinner

It had been quite a year for the Crusaders Hockey program! Our Varsity team had its best season since 2003 and its first winning season since 2009 finishing the campaign with an 18-5 record.  Our Junior Varsity Squad followed suit by posting a stellar 15-4-2 record.
Other Varsity highlights include:

  • Gordon Conference National Division Champions
  • Most wins and points in Gordon Conference
  • Only team to record a win against every team in the Gordon Conference
  • 11-game winning streak from January 8th to February 17th which included seven wins against teams ranked in NJ.com’s Top 10, and a victory against #1 ranked and eventual State Champion CBA in the regular season finale on February 5th.
  • 10 victories against teams ranked in the Top 15 including against State Champions CBA and Summit.
  • Ranked #3 in New Jersey at season’s end by NJ.com and HNIB

The Crusaders spent the entire season ranked in the Top 3 in New Jersey with several weeks ranked as the State’s #1 team. However, the highlight of the season was the Crusader’s capturing its first Bergen County Championship by defeating arch-rival Don Bosco at a packed Ice Vault Arena on January 23rd!
The Crusaders’ return to prominence has been extraordinary and was recognized by the New York Hockey Journal in its February 2020 issue.  Several of our Crusaders received numerous accolades including State, County and Conference Honors – See below.  Congratulations to our players, coaching staff, parents, Bergen Catholic High School and Crusaders Nation on a special season!
