In net for the Crusaders in 2001, Zane captured the State Championship with Bergen Catholic. Following the season, he went on to play Junior hockey for the Tri-City Storm and Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL. Those opportunities would help propel him to Princeton University where he would become the netminder for the ECAC Division 1 team. The 2008-2009 season would see Zane earn ECAC Hockey Player of the Year honors, as well as the ECAC Ken Dryden Award for outstanding goaltender. He was also selected as a Division I All-American.

Following his successful collegiate career, Zane played professional hockey in the ECHL before heading over to Europe where he tended net for the Manchester Storm of the Elite Ice Hockey League. Zane has since returned to the United States where he currently serves as USA Hockey’s Associate Director of Player Development for the Atlantic District.
